NUTRITION

Nutrition is the science that interprets the interaction of  nutrients and other substances in food.
It includes food intake, absorption, assimilation, biosynthesis, catabolism and excretion.

The diet of an organism is what it eats, which is determined by the availability an palatability of foods.A poor diet can lead to causing heath problems and deficiency diseases. 

When talking about food, we often hear people refer to the word nutrients. Is the food full of nutrients? Is it a nutrient-rich food? Are we getting our recommended daily serves of nutrients?


Nutrients can generally be broken onto two categories:
macronutrients – carbohydrates, protein, fats;
and
micronutrients – vitamins and minerals such as calcium, iron, vitamin C.
