ALOO KA PARANTHA


Aloo ka Parantha is a parantha stuffed with spiced mixture of Aloo( Potato).The Stuffing can be made mild or spicier according to the taste.These parantha's are a staple breakfast in the menu of a north Indian family.
These Punjabi parantha's are made up with loads of ghee and served with dollop of butter,yogurt and pickle



ALOO PARANTHA

INGREDIENTS:-

BOIL POTATOES     4-5 MEDIUM
GREEN CHILLIES    1-2(depending on how spicy you want)
RED CHILLI PWDR  1/4-1/2 TSP
AMCHUR PWDR       1/2 TSP
ONION CHOPPED    1/2 CUP
GINGER                      1/2 TSP
GARLIC                      1/2 TSP
SALT                           TO TASTE
CORIANDER              1 TSP
WHEAT FLOUR
OIL/GHEE                    TO ROAST

PREPARAATION TIME: 15 MINS
COOKING TIME          : 30 MINS

PROCEDURE

STUFFING

  1. first boil the potatoes, peel them and mash them softly, so that there is no lumps in them.
  2. now add green chilies, onion, ginger, garlic and mix them well
  3. now add spices-salt, red chili powder,amchur according to taste
  4. finally add coriander and check the taste of stuffing for salt and adjust accordingly
PARANTHA 
  1. take a small pinch of wheat flour and roll it with rolling pin
  2. flatten it to about 4-5 cm in diameter and keep a spoonful of stuffing on it
  3. gather from the corners and close it properly so as no stuffing comes out from with in
  4. dust it with some more flour and roll it to 7-8 diameter
  5. on a hot tawa put the rolled parantha, when the base is cooked flip it and apply some ghee and roast it.
  6. serve it hot with butter and yogurt
CALORIES

A portion of 120 gms of parantha would have approx. 360 calories. Also depends on the ghee and butter added on top of it.
