TOMATO SOUP/HOW TO MAKE A BASIC TOMATO SOUP/TAMATAR KA SHORBA
Tomato Soup or tamatar ka Shorba as called in hindi is the very first name which comes in mind when anybody says Soup.....It's like a very basic dish which is very much prepared in every house during winter's especially. Each bowl of tomato soups simmers with Lot of vitamins A,C,E,K and minerals and antioxidants which keeps us healthy and immune wise strong to fight against winters and colds.
When I was small these Soups are the winter memories which comes in my mind. When my father use to come home from office, we all use to sit together and have our Soups and then dinner was served. It was like Dinner time equals to family time. ☺☺☺
This recipe is a very basic Tomato Soup with Tomato, garlic, onion and dry whole spices added to it. When gets prepared it gives a very silky feeling to the taste. In this Soup the main ingredient is Tomato and it can be served cold or hot in a bowl and served with different ways.
My preference is to have it hot in a big bowl with croutons over it , with a garnishing of coriander and creme as a decoration.Because I don't want it to be on a heavier side rather than preferring a weight watcher Bowl as this has just 30 calories for 100 gm serving.So now let's begin the Recipe...Yum Yum.....

THE BIGGEST DISADVANTAGE OF CONSUMING THIS SOUP IN HIGH QUANTITIES IS THE SODIUM CONTENT IN IT.EXCESS CONSUMPTION CAN INCREASE THE BLOOD PRESSURE WHICH CAN DAMAGE THE HEART, KIDNEYS AND BLOOD VESSEL.
SO DON'T BINGE...........

INGREDIENTS:
- TOMATOES-5-6 CUT IN BIG CHUNKS
- BEETROOT-1-CUT IN BIG PIECES
- GARLIC-6-8-CHOPPED
- ONION-1 MEDIUM CHOPPED
- WATER-3 CUPS
- BAY LEAF-1(TEZ PATTA)
- CINNAMON-1 STICK(DALCHINNI)
- SALT
- SUGAR-1 TBSP
- PEPPER
- BUTTER
- CORIANDER LEAVES
PROCEDURE
- Take a big saucepan or Pressure cooker and add butter to it.
- When it is melted add whole spices, bay leaf and cinnamon to it
- Now add Garlic and onion to it and saute them, be care full we don't want to brown them.to much
- Now add tomatoes and Beet root to it and mix them well now add water to it
- Close the lid of pressure cooker and give 2-3 whistles and then reduce the pressure to medium for 10 mins and then switch off the flame.
- When the pressure is released sieve the mixture and try to extract as much as juice from it.
- We don't want the tomato skin and seeds in the soup , this will make our soup very silky and soft in texture.
- Now take the sauce pan again , add the butter to it and add this mixture to it, adjust salt and pepper to it according to your taste.
- And now the secret ingredient is the Sugar which gives a balance to the taste and the tangyness to it.
- Don't over boil it and serve it with bread croutons and coriander leaves as garnish
- Also a little creme to decorate it.
