MATAR PANEER/COTTAGE CHEESE AND PEAS CURRY/HOW TO MAKE MATAR PANEER



Matar(Peas) and Paneer(Indian cottagae cheese) is a delicious combination made in a mild spicy gravy with tomato as a base.It can be made thick as a gravy to be served with chapatti or like a curry to be eaten with rice.It is a famous Punjabi recipe.
It can be made simple with just tomato gravy of can be prepared as  rich by adding frying paneer cubes to it. Also in the final adding cashew nut creme or milk creme to give it a rich taste. By adding creme the texture becomes really soft and buttery.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 CUP FROZEN PEAS(MATAR)
  • 200 GMS OF CUBED PANEER(COTTAGE CHEESE)
  • 4-5 CLOVES OF GARLIC-CUBED
  • 2 TOMATO -GRATED
  • SALT
  • RED CHILLI PWDR-1/2 TSP
  • TURMERIC-1/2 TSP
  • JEERA(CUMIN)-1/2 TSP
  • SABJI MASALA(ANY BRAND) i HAVE TAKEN MDH
  • CORAINDER PWDR-1/2 TSP
  • OIL

PROCEDURE
  • Take oil in a cooking pan
  • Add Jeera to it, when it starts to crackle add garlic to it
  • When garlic turns brown add onion to it and let it get saute
  • after onions are bowned add tomato paste to it
  • add all the spices mentioned let it get mixed with the onion tomato paste
  • when oil starts coming out of the masala add the peas .
  • later add paneer to it
  • cover it and keep the flame on low so that all the juices can get into peas and paneer.
  • Now open it , it is ready to be served.
  • Garnish it with coriander

  5. Peas are packed with Iron which helps in fighting Anemia
  6. Paneer is a good source of Protein for the vegetarian option. Around 100 gm of Paneer yields 18 gm of protein
  7. Paneer is rich in calcium so it helps in teeth health
  8. Paneer being rich in calcium and Protein helps in burning more fat.
