On this auspicious occasion devotees worship goddess Shakti, Who was incarnated from Goddess Durga.

Dussehra is celebrated in the victory of Lord Rama who defeated Ravana and rescued his wife Goddess Sita. Devotees make huge effigies of Ravana In India and burn it symbolizing victory of good over evil.People also enact scenes from Ramayan staging the final moments of the battle.The effigy is burnt burnt by the character playing Rama.Music and Dance are the integral part of the performance.
