LAUKI-BOTTLE GOURD-DOODHI-HOW TO MAKE LAUKI KE KOFTE OR DUMPLINGS
I love pretty much any Kofta recipe, let it be veg or non-veg Kofta. Since it is a deep fried recipe hence I keep it simple only when preparing for daily , but when I am preparing this dish for some guest visit I make it rich by adding creme and cashew nut paste. So lets start the recipe.And it taste YumYum....

For Kofta's

INGREDIENTS:
For Kofta's
- 1 LAUKI/DOODHI/BOTTLE GOURD-GRATED
- BESAN/CHICK PEA FLOUR-5-6 TSP
- GINGER-1/2 INCH GRATED
- SALT
- RED CHILLI PWDR-1/4 TSP
- OIL-FOR FRYING
For Gravy
- ONION-1 GRATED
- GARLIC-3-4 GRATED
- TOMATOES-2 GRATED
- TURMERIC-1/2 TSP
- SALT
- RED CHILLI PWDR-1/4 TSP
- SABJI MASALA-1/2 TSP(ANY BRAND-MDH,CATCH,EVEREST)
- CORIANDER-TO GARNISH
- OIL
PROCEDURE
For Kofta's
- Peel the lauki, and grate it.Squeeze out excess water from it.
- add ginger, salt, red chilli pwdr and besan to it
- make round balls from it and fry it on medium heat to be cooked properly.
- drain from oil and keep it aside till the preparation of gravy.
For Gravy
- add oil in karahi
- now add grated onion, garlic to it
- keep it saute till it turns brown, as in golden brown
- now add tomatoes to it, along with all the spices mentioned in the ingredients section
- when oil is coming out from the masala, add water to it.
- water it according to the thickness of gravy,
- when it starts to boil then add kofta's to it and after 1-2 min of simmering close the gas
- it's ready to be served.
- garnish it with coriander leaves.
