SUJI KA HALWA/ RAVA HALWA/RAVA KESARI

This dish is a sweet dish which we can prepare whenever we want to have something sweet. It is very easy and very tasty and delicious.It is also prepared as a prasad to offer at the pooja's. I made this during the ashtami in Navratri.

INGREDIENTS:

  • SUJI/RAVA/SEMOLINA-1/2 CUP
  • SUGAR-3/4 CUP(YOU CAN REDUCE THE SWEETNESS ACCORDING TO TASTE)
  • WATER-1-1/2 CUP
  • DESI GHEE-1/2 CUP
  • ALMOMDS,CASHEW NUT-10-15

PROCEDURE:
  • Take a frying pan add Desi ghee to it.
  • let be hot then add the suji/rava/semolina to it
  • Keep it on low medium flame and get it browned.
  • On another burner, take a sauce pan and add water to it let it boil and add sugar to it. make a syrup of it.
  • When suji is golden in color. add the sugar water syrup to it.
  • Be careful as it splutter a lot, keep on stirring and when ghee comes out on the sides it is done.
  • Garnish it with chopped nuts.
  • serve it.

POORI/HOW TO MAKE FLUFFY POORI/BREAKFAST POORI

For dough

  • Wheat flour/atta - 1 cup
  • Melted ghee - 1/2 tsp
  • Sooji/rava /Semolina - 1/2 tsp
  • Sugar – A pinch ( optional)
  • Salt - as needed
  • Water - as needed ( i used around 1/3 cup)
  • Cooking oil - to deep fry



PROCEDURE:-

  • In a wide pan(Parat) add the wheat flour, sooji, salt,sugar,ghee and mix them well.
  • Now slowly add the water and make a dough.
  • Add water bit by bit only because we have to make a tight dough.
  • Knead the dough good to make it soft and smooth.
  • Now take a lemon size ball and flatten it with rolling pin make it medium in size and don't make it too thin.
  • Add oil in a frying pan, when it is hot add the rolled puri to it. it should came up fluffy.
  • Serve it hot.
