STUFFED OKRA/HOW TO MAKE BHARWA BHINDI/PUNJABI MASALEDAR BHINDI




Most of us have been told as children that eating this long, slender, tasty vegetable will make us smarter and help us to get good grades in class and especially in Maths.That might just have been a story that our mothers made up to help us eat every vegetable possible.Okra(Bhindi) as we called it in Hindi is very versatile vegetable. It can be prepared dry, stuffed, stir fry, gravy, in dals and even in kadhi. I love Bhindi's and my son is also a fan. But my husband doesn't like this veggie so I have to prepare it in ways to make him eat this.:).

Stuffed Bhindi(Okra) the name itself gives taste in mouth. I personally like it stuffed one and my hubby also loves it.By making in this way it gives the flexibility of adding the masala according to one's be-arability , as in how strong or light one prefers.

I like to make it mild with presence of amachur in it to give it a tangy taste. So let's begin the recipe...



INGREDEINTS:

  • OKRA(BHINDI)-300GMS
  • SALT-1 tsp
  • RED CHILLI POWDER-1/2 tsp
  • TURMERIC-1/2 tsp
  • AMACHUR(DRY MANGO POWDER)-1 tsp
  • CORAINDER POWDER-2 tsp
  • MUSTARD OIL-FRYING-3 tsp

PROCEDURE:-
  • Wash the okra and wipe out all the water, it should be completely dry out.
  • Trim the ends and top of the okra and make a slit from top to bottom, be careful not to cut it in half.
  • Take a bowl and add all the dry spices and mix it well.
  • Take the slitted Okra's and stuff the masala into it. Don't over do it.
  • When all the okra are done, heat up a frying pan and add oil to it.
  • When oil smokes out, add the okra and keep it on low flame.
  • Gently stir.
  • Dont' cover it otherwise it will be soggy.
  • After 10 mins it will be done.
